Two Students of Food Technology UPH Receive Research Funding from PT Indofood

Two students of Food Technology UPH, Chiara Wijaya (2010) and Veliana Lim (2010) have succeeded to be the receiver of Research Funding from PT Indofood through Indofood Riset Nugraha (IRN) Program for the period of 2014-2015.

(ki-ka) Veliana Lim and Chiara Wijaya, students of Food Technology UPH, have succeeded to receive Research Funding from  Indofood Riset Nugraha (IRN) Program 2014-2015

 

Two students of Food Technology UPH, Chiara Wijaya (2010) and Veliana Lim (2010) have succeeded to be the receiver of Research Funding from PT Indofood through Indofood Riset Nugraha (IRN) Program for the period of 2014-2015. PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (?Indofood?) encouraged undergraduate students in Indonesia to contribute to the nation?s food sustainability and nutritional adequacy through research that would enhance food diversification which based on marine and land resources.

 

The two student?s research proposals were entitled Peningkatan Akseptabilitas Susu Kecipir (Psophocarpus Tetragonolobus (L.) (DC.) dengan  Adisi Bahan Penstabil dan Jus Jahe, by Chiara and Studi Karakteristik dan Stabilitas Pengemulsi Bubuk Lendir Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus), by Veliana. Both of them have accomplished to enter the 52 chosen proposals from 213 proposals.

The IRN program was a Corporate Social Responsibility program held by PT. Indofood that has started since 1998. This program gives funding for researches in food, especially those related with food quality improvement and diversification in order to support national food sustainability. This program was intended for students from various majors. Researches scope includes food and nutrition technology for the society, social, economy, culture, farm and agricultural cultivation.

 

 

Each year, different theme was chosen to adjust with the society?s recent situation and condition. Funds were given to undergraduate students who were completing their thesis. Some of the research outcomes were expected to have further developments, even the best research outcome will have the chance to involved in the international food competition.(rh/seli)
