All the design works that were displayed at The Retail Exhibition 2014 were the final examination project of their last Studio Class. “During the Retail Exhibition, the students are not to learn just the theory itself but also how to apply those theories they have learnt in to art works, to show their capabilities through their design works in front of public, as well as to interact with the visitor while they are explaining the selected concept of their own design?, added Elaine. |

Vanesa Yuni Huang, an interior design department student of 2012, explained the background of her selected concept for Magnum Caf?, ?I did a survey in Caf? around Jakarta, surprisingly all the visitors of the Caf? were upper class only. Coming from the result I have seen from the survey, I decided to create a concept that can also reach the lower class. Therefore, I made a concept of simplicity, homey, and comfortable, so that everyone from different classes can come and enjoy Magnum too.?
She admitted that she was really happy working on this final assignment project and also proud that her design work could be displayed for exhibition. ?I?m truly happy for the opportunity that be given to display my design work. Even though I spent almost half a month, I was lack of sleep, my hands were cut and exhausting. But in the end, seeing the result, I?m very happy and thinking of maybe a chance to be displayed somewhere else outside UPH.? said Vanesa. (ca/au) |
