UPH Student Executive Board and Tangerang Red Cross Holding the Third Blood Donation

On Monday, March 24 2014, tens of students could be seen queuing up in the donators? check-up lane. It was the first day of the blood donation event by UPH Student Executive Board in cooperation with Tangerang Red Cross that took place at UPH Building D fl.5, from 12.00 p.m. to 04.00 p.m. Tangerang Red Cross team drew bloods from 200 registered participants who were qualified to donate. As a result, 203 blood bags were accumulated on the first day.
 
Blood Donation is an annual routine program by UPH Student Executive Board. The recent event, on March 24, marked the third to be held in the academic year of 2013/2014. With the theme ?Make a change and just do(nate) it!?, the 3-days event will take place at different venues; UPH Building D (24/3, from 12.00 p.m. to 04.00 p.m.), UPH Faculty of Medicine (27/3, from 09.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.), and Summarecon Mall Serpomg (29/3, from 01.00 p.m. to 05.00 p.m.). Hopefully, more blood donators are attracted to participate with easily accessed venue, such as at Summarecon Mall Serpong.
 
?Besides to respond the increasing demand of blood bags, blood donation event always receives positive responses every year. This activity has positive values; it does not only help many people who need blood, but it also gives benefits for the donators,? Angeline Calista, Head of Blood Donation 3, explained. Therefore, UPH Student Executive Board always holds this activity regularly. For this year event, the committee is targeting to collect 600 blood bags from three different venues ? 200 from UPH main campus, 150 from UPH Faculty of Medicine, and 250 from Summarecon Mall Serpong.
 
This event is open for public and free from any kind of fees. Thus, everyone can donate their blood to help others in the Blood Donation 3.
