University of Kristen Maranatha?s Faculty of Technology Visited FAST UPH

A total of 130 students and 13 lecturers from Faculty of Technology Universitas Kristen Maranatha (UKM) Bandung held a study tour to UPH Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST) on 21st of March 2014.

Students and lectures from Faculty of Technology UKM Bandung started the campus tour to Building F, UPH
 

A total of 130 students and 13 lecturers from Faculty of Technology Universitas Kristen Maranatha (UKM) Bandung held a study tour to UPH Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST) on 21st of March 2014. A group consisting of 3 faculties namely Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering were greeted with the faculty leaders from FAST UPH. The greeting ensemble included Prof. Manlian (Dean), Dr.-Ing. Jack Widjajakusuma (Civil Engineering?s Head of Department), Laurence, ST., MT. (Industrial Engineering?s Head of Department) and Dr. Henri P. Uranus (Electrical Engineering?s Head of Department), as well as Andry Panjaitan (FAST Director).

Students from Faculty of Technology UKM Bandung explore sport facilites and food court at UPH

 

The event began with a tour to campus facilities, continued with a presentation from each major and a laboratory visit from the three majors. Using the opportunity from a presentation in front of the students from UKM, the leaders from each major explained UPH?s vision and mission, along with the undergraduate program from respective majors. Dean from FAST, Prof. Manlian added an introduction of post-graduate program in UPH Civil Engineering while simultaneously motivating students to continue study to post-graduate. ?UPH offers a Civil Engineering Magister program with Construction Management as one of the concentration. MTS UPH is working with profession association in the field of construction, industry, consultant and company construction to run a program in the area of education, research and public service. MTS UPH accepts students with majors other than Civil Engineering. So for students continuing their study, MTS UPH can be an alternative,? explained Prof. Manlian.

The event continued with visiting Civil Engineering Week taking place in Building D and was closed with lunch. (rh)
