?I think, UPH is a good university with good facilities such as the clean buildings, the library, the fitness centre, the food court and many other facilities. It reminds me of an American university. If you compare the university to other universities in Indonesia, I think UPH has better quality. At first, I really didn’t have a good time here in UPH but that changed after a few months, and now I am enjoying myself here. Because I can speak a bit Bahasa Indonesia, I can usually save myself from any problems. Otherwise, I’ll use English and usually everybody understands me. I don’t have any troubles expressing myself. The most memorable moment I had here at UPH was the moment when I sang at the Cafe of Arts in March. In the end, I would have to say I had a good time throughout the semester, the fun times started out late but eventually everything was very nice at the end.? |

?UPH is an excellent place to study with nice facilities. Karawaci is also nice, the city is quite small and the transportation from my kost to UPH is good. Karawaci has some nice restaurants and shopping mall. I also really like my friends here at UPH. The difficulties I had could be the Indonesian language. I can speak Indonesian language, but not fluently and it?s annoying when a group only speaks in Indonesian. The most memorable highlight for me was joining EPIC-Lifegroup. This was a beautiful experience and since then I met a lot of friends. Overall, I must say, the experience I had here at UPH was life-changing.? |

Zainal Anis ?I feel that UPH is quite a large university, especially compared to my school in the Netherlands. The facilities are very good, I could find almost anything I needed in UPH. I’m talking about the Snoopy Copy & Print, FJ, MYC, Library etc. About UPH itself, I think it’s an university with a good name and image. I came to UPH with an open mind without actually knowing what to expect. Soon enough, I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at UPH. Whenever I mentioned to someone that I studied at UPH, I got positive reactions. My initial thought when I arrived at Karawaci was: “It looks rather different than Jakarta.” I noticed that it was pretty clean and more organized than I expected. I really liked the Benton Junction, because the style of outdoor dining reminded me a bit of my hometown Amsterdam. During my stay, I often went to the Supermal nearby, just to browse around or eat lunch at the Food Court there. Eventually after a while, I wanted to see more than Karawaci so every weekend I went to Jakarta, because I think there’s more variety there. Whenever I went to Jakarta, I took the Lippo Bus. The bus station is near the Supermal. It was very convenient for me. At first, I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to understand most people, but I soon realized that almost everyone could speak English good enough for me to understand them. Of course, I know some basic Indonesian language so that helped a lot too. Other than the language, I think the difference in culture was an obvious factor that I needed to adjust to. I got to know various friends in UPH who welcomed me here. I’m very thankful to them for making me feel welcome here and made my time in UPH more enjoyable! They helped me out when I needed something or had any questions. My experience in UPH is something that shall remain in my memory for a long time. I’ve had good times, but also some difficult times. I’m glad that I’ve met some friends that made me in a good mood whenever I had a bad day. Another thing that I need to mention is that ICS is doing a great job, I hope they continue what they’re doing bringing international students and UPH students together, organizing fun events etc! Finally, I also want to thank the International Office staff for helping me out alot. In the end, I can actually say that I had a great time at UPH!? (dee) UPH Media Relations |
