UPH Graduates are to have the Entrepreneurship Spirit

Lippo Village (4/12) ? UPH 18th Graduation which was held today was divided into two sessions, the morning and afternoon ones, graduating 813 from 855 graduates on Odd Semester 2010/2011.

The keynote speaker for afternoon session was the President of Lippo Group, Theo L. Sambuaga. In his speech, he stated four important points to UPH graduates, e.g. to have entrepreneurship spirit, have to become pioneers, able to boost up productivity, as well as having commitment.

?Having a sense of entrepreneurship doesn?t always mean being businessmen. It could happen anywhere and in any field, including being employees who are entrepreneurs at the same time. Even in politics, entrepreneurship is also needed,? he said.

The graduates must be able to apply their knowledge in order to give added values to each job being done. He reminded all graduates that acknowledgement will come from the society because they see UPH alumni?s performances.

At the end of his remarks, Theo L. Sambuaga reminded UPH graduates to have awareness towards the surrounding environment and society, so that their existence would affect and be felt by many people.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Private Universities Region III (Koordinator Kopertis Wilayah III) ? Prof. Ilza Mayuni ? who attended the morning session, said to the press that she was proud of UPH. She admitted that UPH is one of the prominent private universities that is growing rapidly. ?With good teaching system as well as good teaching ? learning facilities, I?m sure UPH graduates are ready to take part in the working world,? she said.

UPH Rector added that UPH alumni are now scattered in various countries, be it for working as well as for continuing their studies. ?Even now, UPH Law School alumni are in high favor in the eyes of prominent law firms,? he said. (ros)
