In his speech, UPH Rector appreciated the initiator of this event, because it had been a reflection of holistic education at UPH. “By having events like these, it is clearly shown that UPH is not merely prioritizing excellent education, but also total commitments toward the spiritual and character aspects. At UPH, all of those aspects may be developed to their maximum capacity,” he said.
On that occasion, representing the Minister of Culture and Tourism ? Jero Wacik – Directorate General Cultural Art Values and Film, Tjetjep Suparman, also gave a speech, and said, “Events like these are manifestations of students? concerns to elevate Indonesian cultures. Hopefully, other universities could follow UPH?s footsteps to get the positive values of our culture,” he said as reading Jero?s speech.
Tjetjep added that Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Tourism would give souvenirs of book series about Indonesian culture. “We will donate several books for UPH library. We hope these books can be used as references for students who are conducting researches on culture,” he added.

After the speeches, the audience was entertained by performances of students from UPH Conservatory of Music called Three Play Percussion, followed by a fashion show and the reading of UPH Award nominations from each category.
The idea of inviting fashion designers from the JFC and ESMOD originated from the appreciation given to Indonesian designers, who can elevate Indonesian culture to the world. “With this event, we want to open UPH students? insights to be motivated to explore the richness of our nation?s culture and able to produce works to compete in the international level, just like the JFC designers did,” said Bong Stevian, Chairman of the 4th UPH Award.
