Nihon Utopia, is one of the Student Activity Units (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa ? UKM) that is held by the Department of Performing Arts.

Tabemashou! (?let’s eat?, in Japanese-language, red.) Nihon Utopia, is one of the Student Activity Units (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa ? UKM) that is held by the Department of Performing Arts. The event was held on Wednesday (24/3) at UPH restaurant Building D 1^st floor, in the form of a Sushi Workshop, in collaboration with Ichiban sushi. Nihon Utopia participants were trained to make a delicious sushi.

Why sushi? Based on Nihon Utopia?s survey in UPH, students love sushi. Their interest can be seen from their enthusiasm when making sushi. Starting with rolling, cutting, and mixing each ingredient, the participants diligently followed all instructions given by the instructor from Ichiban Sushi.

Ichiban Sushi is a food outlet that has been serving the needs of Indonesians for Japanese food. According to Sutanto, Ichiban Sushi supervisor, “Ichiban Sushi has been planning to hold a workshop like this, unfortunately, it was impossible to be done at Ichiban Sushi itself due to timing and big crowds.”

This workshop aims to give people exciting experiences in making good sushi. “Although the ingredients are not quite easy to be found, they are still available in the market”, said Lukman (Management 2007), Nihon Utopia Chairman. The participants then brought their home-made sushi to be enjoyed, or studied further. (dar)
