Approximately 200 UPH students of Product Design, Faculty of Design and Planning were following presentation about Nissan design and technological innovation delivered by Makoto Yamane.

Lippo Village (3/12) – Approximately 200 UPH students of Product Design, Faculty of Design and Planning were following presentation about Nissan design and technological innovation delivered by Makoto Yamane, Associate Product Chief Designer of Nissan Design Center, Japan, which also responsible for Nissan’s global compact car that will be launched in the near future.
This seminar is part of the Nissan Design Square (NDS) which was held by PT Nissan Motor Indonesia (NMI) on UPH campus. “Nissan Design Square is part of the Nissan global activities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which set forth the design and technological innovation of Nissan which was held in Asia for the first time. This activity is a continuation of the Nissan Design Forum (NDF) held in 2006 at the ITB, Bandung and the 2008 Nissan Technology Square in Jakarta,” said Takayuki Kimura, President of NMI.
This seminar was specially prepared for the students so that they understand the concept of Nissan design and technology. In his presentation Yamane explained the development of Nissan car design and philosophy. According to him, Nissan design is inseparable from the long history of Nissan’s wealth. “Our goal is to introduce the Nissan design more closely and enrich the knowledge of students,” Yamane said.
The second speaker was Yoshihito Takeuchi who is a professional model maker from clay (clay modeler). Being part of the NDS, from December 3 until December 20 they held Nissan Design Square exhibition which is equipped with display panel in Johannes Oentoro Library, University of Pelita Harapan, Karawaci. In this exhibition will be displayed Nissan cars ? scale size of the original size, some of the models are X-Trail, Teana, and March that are made of plastic. (ros/cyn)
