TI UPH Enters National Scale

Industrial Engineering Student Organization of UPH (HMJ TI UPH) created a new innovation by organizing National Industrial Engineering Competition. This competition entitled Eight Deathly Wastes was attended by 13 teams from UPH, UGM, ITB, UNPAR, BINUS, ITHB, Trisakti, and Maranatha. They had to finish all simulations which were related to the theme.

The material team set two sessions of elimination so, at last there were four teams that went to final round. The four teams were UGM, UPH, ITB, and Binus. They were judged by Production Manager PT. Panasonic Manufacture Indonesia, Agus Dimyati, Treasurer of IPOMS dan also UPH TI lecturer, Ir. Linasani Hadi, MSEM, and Chief Analyst Seruling Consulting, Hermawan Suryawijaya, M. Sc.

After the final round, the judges announced Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) as a winner and Universitas Pelita Harapan as a runner up. ?We didn?t think we can win this competition, because the questions were getting difficult. But, we do proud of UPH, because from what I know, this kind of competition is the third one after UI and ITB. We are so happy to attend this competition and meet new friends, said Hardian, one of ITB student.

This competition was only part of the various activities from the big event Engineering Festival and Competition, which was held from Sunday (22/02) until Wednesday (25/2). This event held seminars, such as Promodel Simulation by President IPOMS, Ir. Hariyanto Salim, Oracle Application in Business Integration by Business Director of PT. Oracle, Mr. Robert Kayatoe, and Customer Relationship Management in Business Integration Seminar by Director? of PT. PhinCon, Ms Arifa Tan. Moreover, there was also exhibition, called Our Earth.

The whole events got positive response from all participants. External Head Committee of this event, Sally Theresia, said that our goal in holding this event are to introduce Industrial Engineering to public and also to build partnership with well known industrial companies.
