Conservatory of Music UPH Will Hold The Music Festival 2014

Conservatory of Music UPH will hold the Music Festival 2014 which will be starting on 12, 13, and 15 June 2014. This event includes several programs such as music perfomance, workshop, seminar, music clinic, and also master class.

According to Revi Pongoh, as a lecture of Conservatory of Music UPH and the also the committee of this event, said that the idea of this event is determine by the current trend, which music has been a part of young people life. Besides that, the event is made to fulfill the needs and wants of young generation in the art of music. Through this event, Conservatory of Music wants to introduce music education that UPH had and to invite the talented teenagers to learn more about music or expanding their ability to be a qualified musician.

The re-harmonization of folk music is one of the topics that will be discussed in the seminar. ?Indonesia has a lot of good folk music, but these are not accepted well by the teenagers. In this seminar, the participants will be given tips to re- harmonization the music, so it would be able to be accepted by current trends. Basically it teach you how to compose a folk music to be more contemporary with the original lyrics of the song.? said Revi.

In the workshop, the participants are able to play variety of instruments such as drum and percussion. ?Now, people are more interested on this kind of instrument. Apart from being dynamic, these instruments are suitable with the young generations? taste,? added Revi.

This seminar is free of charge, but for the participants on music clinic, they need to pay a certain amount of money. They are able to bring their own instruments? or to watch the performance itself.

?I am sure that this will be interesting because of the various music genres such as jazz, classics, and pop will be performed on the festival. There is a music performance by the students and the lecturers of Conservatory of Music UPH. There will be 14 hits songs from Stevie Wonder that had been arranged by Bobby Limijaya, as the lecture of Conservatory of Music UPH. We are choosing the best singer from our alumni. Don?t miss it.
